Hey, there, all, BlackCarrot here, because I wanted to change my journal entry since it's been weeks since we've heard concrete info about Fire Emblem Warriors.
Anyway, I wanted to give some thoughtful advise to any artist or creator feeling down and out. I have two things to recommend to you:
Just Doddle something, and Always Carry a Pen.
That's right. Put your pencil, pen, or whatever you've got down on a piece of paper. Doesn't matter what, just jot it down.
At my first job, I learned fast to always have my own pen handy. Why? Because sometimes, the pens they provide you may be crap. If you want to use a good pen, find a brand of pen you like and carry it with you where you go. Now, you have something to write with. But what to write down on?
Recently, at my new job at a movie theater, I discovered that I really need something to write down on as well as write with. That's why I now carry a pocket journal with me just to jot down whatever insane, out-there, crazy idea that comes to my mind. It also comes in handy when you wanna remember a future day or some arbitrary info you may not need now but later on in the future.
And hey, since I have both paper and pen with me at all times, why not doodle? And why not write down an idea to doodle later? In this age of internet and information at the tips of your finger, a pocket journal may seem dumb, but when you can't access said internet, paper is always at hand.
Write down your craziest things. Doodle what comes to mind. Keep your mind going, even when you have down-time. These ideas might get you out of your funk and back into creating again. Who knows? Give it a try.
