Episode 29: The Forgotten House

"Previously, on KST Book II: The Lustrous Orb, Shadow caught Wolf O'Donnell trying to kidnap Blaze, but fortunately, she was no where to be found.  The next morning, the Star Fox Team arrives on Blaze's planet to hunt down and capture Wolf.  After Ristar helped Fox and his team remember who he and his friends are, Star Fox agrees to assist Marth fight the Dark Matter and Eggman Nega as he, Shadow, Waluigi, and Ristar agree to help hunt down Wolf."

The court yard of Blaze's castle.  Shadow and Falco spar each other as Ristar, Fox, Slippy, and Krystal watch from a safe distance.

Fox: Look at them go.  Falco's hand-to-hand combat never ceases to amaze me.

Ristar: He and Shadow are giving it there all.  I don't wanna mess with either one of them.

Slippy: This is cool and all, but shouldn't someone be guarding that orb thing before someone tries to walk off with it?

Krystal: I sense someone with that orb trying to jump out a window.  I'll take care of it.

Ristar: (as Krystal leaves) Huh?  How does she know that someone's trying to steal the orb?

Fox: Krystal has telepathic powers that allow her to see where her enemies are hiding.  Don't worry, we'll soon find out who our theif is.

Waluigi: (voice) Hey, whadduya doing...? Whaaa...! (falls to the group's feet and drops the Lustrous Fragment) Ow!

Krystal: (rejoins the others) What do you think you were doing, skinny?

Waluigi: Hey, you know me, I was... just test you to see if you can protect the orb.  Yeah, that's it!  You, Fox, the frog, the bird... hey, where's that bunny rabbit?

Slippy: You mean Peppy?  He's with Marth talking about something or other.

Fox: Peppy's been like a mentor to me, being one of the original Star Fox Team.  I'll never forget the one thing he always told me; "Do a Barrel Roll".

Waluigi: Yeah, yeah... (sees the battle) Whoa!  I almost missed a prime fight just to swipe the... I mean, protect the orb?  Heh, heh...

Falco: Not bad, Hedgehog, but you'll have to do better than that to beat me. (attacks with Fire Bird) Fire!

Shadow: (dodges the attack) Hmph!  You think you can beat me that easily?  Chaos... SPERAR!

Falco: (back flips to dodge the attack) Nice try, but you'll have to stop time to stop this!

Shadow: (Falco starts up the Falco Phantasm) Chaos... CONTROL! (stops time as Falco's attack comes within one inch of him.  Attacks the real Falco multiple times) Hmmm... Too easy. (snaps his fingers)

Falco: Gahh! (times resumes.  Falls to the ground) How...?

Krystal: Incredible.  Shadow was able to negate the Falco Phantasm and strike without even so much as moving a muscle.

Slippy: I know.  It's mind-boggling.

Shadow: (sees Falco trying to get back up) Your pathetic.  Don't bother me again.

Falco: What'd you say?! (Shadow walks off) Get back here, I ain't done with you!

Fox: Falco, let it go.  You're in no shape to fight him now.  Take a break, why don't ya.

Falco: Grr... like I really need to listen to you, Fox.  (starts walking away in a huff) Don't believe this.

Fox: (sighs) Don't worry, he'll be alright.  Now, it's our turn to pratice.  Ristar, how about you and Waluigi take on me and Krystal?

Ristar: No problem, buddy.  Ready to rumble?

Waluigi: Oh, yeah!  It's payback time, Fox Girl.

Krystal: Count me out, Fox.  I... I'm going to run a diagnostic check on yours and Falco's Landmasters.

Fox: Um, okay.  Krystal, is something wrong?

Krystal: Nothing's wrong, alright?  I'll see you later.

Fox: Alright then. (Krystal leaves) Man, she's been acting weird since we came to this planet.  I hope everything's alright.

Waluigi: Meh, Dames.  Who can figure them out?  Am I right, or am I right?

Falco: (aide) I can't believe this.  If they think I'm gonna let that hedgehog walk all over me and get away with it, they're dead wrong. (sees Shadow talking to Gardon.  Shadow then exits) Hey, Koala! (runs up to Gardon) Where's that hedgehog going?

Gardon: Well, Sir Shadow is heading to an old abandonded house that no one has lived in for months.  He told me not to let anyone follow him.

Falco: Hmm... well, if Wolf is hiding at that old house and has found a way to get to your princess, then he could find and kidnap her... That is, unless someone tells me about where that house is and stops him.

Gardon: Oh, dear.  I hadn't thought of that.  Alright, I'll tell you.

Gardon tells Falco where the house that Shadow ran off to is.  Falco heads to the abandoned house and looks around inside.  He hears something from around the corner.  He quickly turns the corner with his Blaster ready.  However, Meta Knight swings his sword to disarm Falco.

Meta Knight: Boy, you are one stubburn fowl, aren't you?

Falco: What did you call me?  Hmph.  Tough talk coming from a peewee with a stick.  Just who the heck are you?

Meta Knight: They call me "Meta Knight".  I'm here with Shadow looking for something.

Falco: Shadow?  Where is he?  I owe him a beating.

Shadow: Will you knock it off? (appears behind Meta Knight) If you wanna know why I'm here, then turn off your communicator.  Otherwise, get lost.

Meta Knight: In order for my mission to succeed,  no one must know I'm here.

Falco: Hmm... Alright.  I'll play by your rules... (turns off his communicator) for now.

Meta Knight: I'm here investigating why the Dark Matter has taken an interest in Shy Guy's house.

Falco: Who's Shy Guy?

Shadow: One of the three twerps that hung around with us.  Earlier, when Blaze was forced out of her castle, Shy Guy offered his house to be our base of operation.  After our first encounter with each other, Falco, Captain Falcon came home with an unusual object...

Flashback to the basement of Shy Guy's house.  Captain Falcon puts a purple and white sphere inside a small box.  Shadow warps in behind Falcon.

Captain Falcon: Shadow, you always know how to make a silent enterence.

Shadow: Are you ready to go or what?  The Halberd isn't going to take itself down.  And what do have in there?

Captain Falcon: I'm not sure.  Olimar found it on the Distant Planet.  He didn't see any use for it himself, so he gave it to me.  Once we get back from our mission, I'll figure out what it's for.  Until then, it stays in this protective box.

Shadow: That's really interesting, but we have more important things to worry about.

Captain Falcon: There's one more thing to take care of.  Care to figure out a password to open the box?

Shadow: Fine. (types something on the holographic keyboard that appears from the box) There, now let's go.

Captain Falcon: Interesting.  I doubt this, but is that someone close to you?

Shadow: I've been waiting forever to teach that oversized bucket of chicken wings a lesson, and I won't be delayed by trivial questions, now let's go!

Falco: (flashback ends) You think that item is still here?

Shadow: If memory serves, neither Falcon nor I went back for it, so it must still be in the basement since only he and I knew about it.

Meta Knight: Not anymore. (Shadow and Falco follow him downstairs to a giant hole in the floor) Everything in this room must have fallen into the sewers.  Would you like to go first, Falco?

Falco: Aw, man.  I should of stayed at the castle.

Shadow, Meta Knight, and Falco jump down into the sewers and continue their investigation.  Shadow and Meta Knight remeniss about Shadow's time working with Kirby and Blaze before as Falco tries to ignore them.

Shadow: ... and idiot had to swallow that dang Sol Emerald.  I thought it bring us back a few days.

Meta Knight: I don't think there's anything Kirby can't eat.  In other news, the Poliwhirl and Electivire you knew are now being trained by that boy, Stephen, in Dream Land.  They're doing quite well.  They might have a chance at Palkia.

Shadow: I didn't care about them then, and I don't now.

Meta Knight: Oh?  What about the time you helped Poliwhirl to use mind over matter?

Falco: Okay, that's it, you guys are boring the crud outta me.  I can tell a better story than you two.

Meta Knight: Really?  Then enlighten us.

Falco: Fine then.  Remember when we had to take Falcon to that planet to face Black Shadow?  Before we got there, I took the liberty to contact Slippy and Krystal myself.  Then, that mushroom kid made things interesting.

Shadow: Goomba... interesting?

Falco: Yeah, he told Krystal that she "wouldn't believe the dame Fox has with him now".  I asked him why in the world he did that, but he said it would be fun. (chuckles) It was.  You should have seen those two argue.  It last for fifteen minutes!

Shadow: Now you're the one boring me.

Falco: Now you know how I feel.

Meta Knight: Cool it, both of you.  Do you hear that?

All three stop to listen a ruckus going on ahead of them.  They run up and see Salamence battling three Chain Chomps.  The Chomps charge for him as Salamence jumps into the air and attacks with Dragon Claw.  All three Chomps hop away scared.

Chomps: Arf, Arf!  Arf, Arf!  Arf, Arf...!

Salamence: Rraaaaahhh!

Falco: Man, princesses, knights, dragons... this kingdom's got it all.

Shadow: It's Salamence.  This must be where he's been hiding.

Meta Knight: Allow me, gentlemen. (approaches Salamence) Greetings, Salamence.

Salamence: Rrr? (turns to Meta Knight) Rraaahhh!

Meta Knight: I know that you wish to battle Marth to regain your pride as a dragon Pokemon.  I have a message from Marth.  He saids that tomorrow, you and he shall settle this score once and for all.

Salamence: Rrrr...Rrrrr...

Meta Knight: Good.  Now, then, I'm searching for a small box that might have wound up in the sewers.  Have you seen it?

Salamence: Rrrr... (reachs over to the side and picks up the box with his mouth.  Gives it to Meta Knight) Rraaaah.

Meta Knight: Thank you. (Salamence walks away) It's alright, boys.  It's safe to come out now.

Falco: Don't tell me you could understand that thing, can you?

Shadow: Put a sock in it.  At least we found this stupid thing.  The Dark Matter won't be getting there hands on this.

???: We wouldn't be too sure about that...

Suddenly, a giant white ball comes out from hiding in Falco's shadow and confronts the three heroes.  Meta Knight draws his sword and Falco his Blaster to fight the giant white ball.

Meta Knight: You're certainly a sight for sore eyes... Miracle Matter.

Miracle Matter: Meta Knight... (opens it multiple red eyes) We haven't seen you in while.

Falco: Enough of the eye puns!  If you're Dark Matter, then I'll be happy to destroy you.

Miracle Matter: (all of its eyes glow yellow) Chaos... Spear!

Falco: Oh, yeah? (kicks his Reflector to send the spears back at it) Back at 'cha!

Miracle Matter: Hmm... (dodges the spears) Impressive technique.  We'll take it.

Falco: Oh, really? (fires his Blaster) Take this!

Miracle Matter: Hmm... (launches one of his eyes to reflect the blast) Back at 'cha!

Falco: What the... (hit by his own attack) Gah!  What was that about?

Meta Knight: Miracle Matter is a special strand of Dark Matter.  It only has to witness an attack, then it can use it on its own.

Shadow: Wait a minute... I recognize you.  Yeah, back at Doctor Eggman Nega's base.  You disappeared right after the Dark Matter took over that Kracko.

Miracle Matter: Yes.  We have been watching all of you, those in Dream Land, and you all here.  We've mastered every technique you have thrown at us, except for one... Chaos Control.  It is too fast for our eyes to witness.

Falco: You wanna know how that cheap shot works, don't you?

Miracle Matter: Exactly.  When the time is right, we will be able to multiply, creating more and more Miracle Matter, and with all of us utilizing Chaos Control, then we will take the title of Utlamite Lifeforms.

Shadow: I've had enough of this.  I'll take you down once and for all!

Miracle Matter: We have ways to make you show us... (fires a Landmaster blast) Take this!

Falco: Heads up! (all three dodge the attack.  Miracle Matter rushes in and engulfs Shadow) Shadow!  They're trying to take over his body.

Meta Knight: No.  Miracle Matter can not possess a person like regular Dark Matter.  However, if Shadow enduces Chaos Control inside of it, then it will learn Chaos Control.  Now, only Shadow can break himself free.

Falco: And what if he can't?

Meta Knight: He's done it before, he'll do it again.

Shadow: (inside a void of darkness) What is this?

Miracle Matter: (voice) Do you remember, Shadow?  It was over fifty years ago... they tried to take you, but one tried to save you...

Shadow: NO!  I see what you're trying to do.  You're using the darkness of my past to try and trick me.  Let tell you something, it didn't work before, and it won't work now!  I've left my past behind me.

Miracle Matter: She lost her own life to save yours.  You can not deny the darkness those humans used against you, and you can not deny the darkness in you.  Her love for you made her weak, and if it wasn't for that, then Maria would still be alive.

Shadow: How DARE you speak her name, you filthy monster. (his body starts glowing red) I'll make you regret this for the rest of your short life!

Meta Knight: Hmm? (sees Miracle Matter glowing red) We really have to get out of here.

Falco: What?  Why?

Meta Knight: (backs away with Falco) You'll thank me for this.

Miracle Matter: Yes, we feel the power of Chaos surging through your body.  Now, Shadow... wait.  Something's different about this power.  What are you doing?!

Shadow: Chaos... BLAST!

Shadow enduces Chaos Blast from inside Miracle Matter.  Miracle Matter's body shatters only to form into the shadows and escape.  Shadow lands on the ground as his body stops glowing.  Meta Knight and Falco approach him with extreme caution.

Falco: What... the... heck...?!

Shadow: They didn't get the box, did they?

Meta Knight: No.  It's right here, safe and sound.

Falco: That's cool and all, but I wanna get out of this place A.S.A.P.

Meta Knight: No problem. (uses the Dimesional Cape to transport them back to the castle in front of the others) Here we are.

Fox: F-Falco?  Where did you come from?

Slippy: Yeah, and... (sniffs) what smells like raw sewage?

Falco: It's a long story.  Ask Meta Knight.  ...Meta Knight? (turns to see that Meta Knight is gone) Hey, where'd he go?

Ristar: Man, that guy is full of suprises.  He just seems to pop up outta no where and disappear just like that.

Later that night, Marth and Peppy discuss to each other matters of the Order inside the throne room by themselves.

Peppy: How much longer until Miracle Matter will be able to reproduce?

Marth: Not for a few months.  However, if Lucario unleashes his aura at full power, it will only take it a few hours.  Luckily, it failed to learn Chaos Control or Chaos Blast.  That's twice he's been able to repel them.

Peppy: Yes, I'm impressed.  Also, I've been hearing good things from Issac about Captain Falcon.  Perhaps they...

Marth: Hold on.... someone's coming.

Shadow: (walks in and throws the box to Marth) Here, catch.

Marth: Why, Shadow, I didn't know you cared.  It's not even my birthday.

Shadow: Zip it!  Whatever's in that box, the Dark Matter won't get there hands on it.  I have no use for it, so it's yours. (turns around) The password to open it... is "Maria".

Peppy: Thank you, Shadow.  Marth, allow me... (punchs in the password as Shadow leaves.  The box opens)  What do suppose it is?

Marth: It's... a Master Ball. (picks up the Master Ball)  This Pokeball can catch any Pokemon without fail.  If the Dark Matter got to it first, they could have had control over Palkia...

"Shadow, Falco, and Meta Knight have successfully kept a Master Ball out of the Dark Matter's hands.  On top of that, Shadow was able to repel the Dark Matter once again and prevent Miracle Matter from learning Chaos Control.  What will become of the Master Ball now that it is in safe hands?  Are Eggman Nega and Wolf O'Donnell coming back for a surprise attack?  Be here for the next thrilling enstallment of KST Book II: The Lustrous Orb to find out."
